Thistledew obviousl derives its name from Thistledew Lake near by. The George Washington Forest surrounds the site which contains a variety of trails.
I could find no evidence of the tower. GPSr pointed to brushy area 30 to 40 feet to the left of this clearing.
The area has a nice ATV and/or horse riding trail which passes through the old tower site.
