This site must have inherited its name from the Stony River which flows through the area. Maps label the location Stony Tower Hill. However, it's not much of a hill!

The site sported two stakes calling attention to the survey marker. I could not find the marker. Summer foliage hides it well. I enjoyed a pleasant walk in on the Stony Loop (too rutted for my low bottom vehicle). The old road to the site is rather overgrown though still discernable.

As usual, one of the old concrete anchor pads for the tower.

Unique to this site a block inscribed with 1937. I found this piece which obvious served as the bottom step of the stairway up the tower.
