As I approached the site, I could see the Cromwell Tower standing proudly above the trees. You can easily drive to the location. In fact if you use the cross country ski trails northeast of Cromwell in the Fon-du-Lac State Forest, you will pass the tower on your way to the trailhead.
CROMWELL was organized January 17, 1891, receiving its name from the Northern Pacific Railroad company. It was incorporated as a village in 1903; the post office was established in 1882. Minnesota Historical Society
