I never knew this tower location existed so close to home. A beautiful hardwood forest surrounds the site. I visited in mid-winter. I will try to visit again in the spring and try for better photographs.

No nearby geographical feature seems to account for its name. I received this suggestion:The dictionary defines Argus as any observant or vigilant person; a watchful guardian. It also gives the definition "Mythology. a giant with 100 eyes, set to guard the heifer". Willing to bet the site is probably named after Argus inspired by the first definition.

Those who removed the tower left the cab on site.

Even in the deep snow I could see the concrete pads which once anchored the tower laying on the edge of the site.

If you look carefully, you can see Lila. Peer in the fog and you might see the faint outline of the transmitting tower.
